Unbridled

Unbridled encapsulates the Japanese philosophy of Wabi Sabi. The work appears naturally weathered with rounded edges and imperfect structural lines. Soft transitions make up the composition while maintaining distinctive movement throughout the piece. Details of paint splatter, linework, and oil stick markings ingrain an antiquated complexity within the composition.

I have a deep craving to create artworks that align with Mother Earth and to honor her through my own lens. This work, including the frame, is made entirely of my natural stone texture. This was the first piece I completed in this texture. It has a one of a kind elevation variation throughout the composition that reminds me of a moonscape. One of my favorite details about this piece is the relationship it has with the sun. During sunset and sunrise, it casts shadows along the piece making the composition ever changing and engagingly interactive.
