Once we discuss pricing and I give you a general overview of the process, we’ll dive in together as you tell me the story that you want your piece to show. From talking about what’s important to you and the emotions you want your story to reflect to the colors you’re drawn to and the feeling you want to embody, I’ll create digital, scaled mockups until we’ve found the perfect version of that story to bring to life.

After we’ve talked about a timeline and dug into your inspirations, the fun stuff starts — and I start creating. While my process always begins with milling my own wood, cutting everything to size, and starting to attach and texture the cardboard, everything’s fair game after that. I start to build your piece — and help you tell your story — with you alongside me every step of the way as we work to build in color, layer, texture, and sentiment.

As the artist, I’m just the vessel from that story you’re wanting to tell — and making you feel empowered in that process is the most incredible part of the process. I’ll bring you into the decisions I’m making, take you along with me as each aspect comes together, and continually show you the piece to make sure we’re aligned in its direction.

THE CORNERSTONE:
My name is Mackenzie Jones, and I’m the artist and vessel behind the stories that you want to tell. While most of the art I do is inside my studio just outside of Austin, TX, I seek out every second I can in the Colorado mountains finding inspiration and breathing in the mountain air. I found art as a form of therapy for myself before realizing that the art I make can serve the same purpose for my clients, too — and I can’t wait to meet you. (Heads up: there’s a 97% chance I’ll be drinking homemade chai while we chat.)
