Ascending Rain is a beautiful juxtaposition between moody and airy. Soft dynamic paint strokes and neutral tonal variation creates a soothing composition while also celebrating the energetic movement throughout the piece. Using a painting technique that uses a lot of water, there is a very natural essence about the piece and what inspired the name. With a custom white oak framing, cut and assembled in house, this piece exemplifies hand made qualities that stand the testament of time and trends.
Some of my favorite works deal with the embodiment of juxtaposition and duality within tones and texture. This piece is no exception as it is one of my more visually dynamic compositions both in form and color. The use of water was an especially grounding experience that made this painting hold a special place in my heart.
